Final rites for Miss Esther Neiman were held at the Wilson Funeral home in Tipton Friday afternoon at four o'clock with committal in the Masonic cemetery. Rev. Stanley Schlick officiated.

Mrs. Carson Cobb and Mrs. Everett Chamberlain sang selected music with Mrs. Earl Escher accompanist.

Esther Luella Neiman, daughter of Peter W. and Ann Newcom Neiman, was born in Cedar county, Iowa, September 25, 1865. She was one of six children; one brother, Wilson, died in infancy; Emma Neiman who died in early womanhood; William C. who died August 22, 1944; Mirtie Owen, who died January 4, 1940; and Annette McCormick, who died July 11, 1942. Esther Neiman lived in Tipton most of her life, keeping a home for her father, brother and her invalid sister. She served three children homes in capacity of supervisor of infant departments at Bay City, Michigan, Mishawaka, Indiana, and Rock Island, Ill. Her generosity and self forgetfulness in service are living memorials in many hearts today.

Esther Neiman died in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Ia., October 16, 1945, at the age of 80 years and 21 days. She is survived by two nieces, Grace Waddell and Verda Wilson of Tipton, Iowa; and two nephews, Charles McCormick, Boulder, Colorado; and Vern Owen of Lafayette, Indiana.
