Mrs. Dora M. Werling, a longtime resident of the Rochester area, died Nov. 3 at a rest home in Marion. Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at the Sheets and Son funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Gillaspie officiating.

Pallbearers were Ray Isabel, Harold Conley, Chester Dickey, Ernest Lincoln, John Sharpless and Donald Schroeder. Laura Geller was organist. Mrs. Ray Isabel and Mrs. John Sharpless were in charge of flowers. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

The daughter of Gilbert and Amelia Reese Buxter, she was born at Albert Lea, Minn. Oct. 27, 1879 and was educated in the rural Cedar county schools. She was married to John W. Werling at Tipton Oct. 11, 1898.

She spent most of her life in the Rochester area, with the exception of 5 years at Verndale, Minn.

She is survived by 3 sons, Elmer, Curtis and Vernon, Atalissa; 3 daughters, Mrs. Cora Benson and Mrs. Albert (Gladys) Schnoover, West Liberty, and Mrs. Elwood (Bernice) Becker, Stanwood; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1947; also a brother and 3 sisters.
