Mechanicsville - Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Methodist church for Mrs. Geneva Studer, 56, widow of Morris Studer. Mrs. Studer died at her home in Mt. Vernon Oct. 27 following a long illness.

Rev. James Nelson officiated with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Mrs. Studer was born March 28, 1909 at Olin, daughter of Leazer and Bertha McCormick. She attended school at Olin. She married Morris Studer in 1929 at Dubuque and they farmed near Mechanicsville. He died in 1951 and she moved to Mt. Vernon in 1954.

She is survived by 4 sons, Merle, Cedar Rapids; R. Dale and Donald, Mechanicsville; Darrill, Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Scaffinger, Iowa City; and 11 grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by an infant son and her parents. Pall bearers were Lafe Hudachek, Herman Deerberg, Clifford Dickey, Harold Fisher, LaVern Sievers and Jack McConaughy.
