Clarence - Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer Denkman, 67, were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapman Funeral home with Rev. Richard Keim officiating.

Mrs. John Swift was the vocalist and Rosalyn Kintzel was the organist. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Eiler and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Meyer were in charge of the flowers.

Mrs. Denkman died August 19, at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a lengthy illness. She was born in the Earlville area, the daughter of Richard and Mary Kahl Mattingly. She married Elmer Denkman in Cedar Rapids on Feb. 12, 1920. They farmed south of Stanwood until moving to Clarence two years ago.

Mrs. Denkman was a member of the Methodist church and the Women's Society of Christian Service.

Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. James Gossman, Spencer; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a brother.

Pallbearers were Glen Tenley, Walter Kemmann, Howard Tenley, William Rhoads, Robert Kelly and Homer Burgess.
