Lowden - Funeral services were held for Daniel J. Stock, 83, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, Monday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Theodore Hinck conducted the services with music by the male choir and Mrs. Lorenz Hoffmeier, organist.

Mr. Stock died at his home April 23. He was born the son of Johann and Kathryn Preis Stock at Wall Lake. He was married to Emma Martzahn, Jan. 6, 1904 at Clarence. They farmed before moving to town where he served as night marshal for a number of years.

Survivors are sons, John, and Ralph, both of Clarence; Woodrow, Stanwood; and Elmer, Monroe, La.; daughters, Edna, Clarence; Mrs. Mildred Conrad, Lowden; Mrs. George (Irene) Elder, Alhambra, Calif.; Mrs. Melvin (Evelyn) Schoff and Mrs. Lorenz (Myrtle) Himple, both of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Chris, Wall Lake; and a sister, Mrs. Kate Bugge, Lake View, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Forrest Woode, Mearl Bixler, Carl Kruckenberg, Arthur Dircks, Lloyd Hasselbusch, and Carl Ruprecht. Mrs. Erherd Kroemer and Mrs. Everett Bixler were in charge of the flowers.

Burial in the Lutheran cemetery.
