Services Monday For Frank Ethel, Centenarian

Mechanicsville - Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church for Frank E. Ethel, 100, the oldest resident of this community, with Rev. George Gallaher, officiating.

Mr. Ethel died in the home of his niece, Mrs. Dollie Moon, March 20. He had been in bed since his 100th birthday, Dec. 8.

Frank Elsworth Ethel was born the son of Thomas and Eliza Wilson Ethel on Dec. 8, 1864. He attended school in Ada, Ohio and attended a college now known as Ohio Northern College.

Mr. Ethel was never married. He was a member of the Mechanicsville Presbyterian church and farmed for 50 years.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

His father, mother, five sisters and two brothers all preceded him in death, the last one dying 14 years ago.

Pallbearers were Donald Overbaugh, Calvin Robinson, H. C. Rinehart, C. A. Smay, Floyd Siver and James High. Interment in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Horner Funeral home in charge.
