Stanwood - Funeral services for J. A. (Arch) Graft, 81, were held in the Methodist church Thurs. (today) at 10 a.m. with Rev. Beaty L. McDonald, officiating.

Mrs. John Swift sang accompanied by Mrs. Edward Speer.

Mr. Graft died in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, March 2 following a short illness.

James Arthur Graft, son of John and Elizabeth Perry Graft, was born July 9, 1883, in Jones County and spent most of his lifetime farming in the Stanwood community.

He was married on Jan. 11, 1908, to Edith Aylsworth and in 1958 the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. She preceded him in death a few years ago.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ann Berryhill, Milan, Ill., and a brother, Thomas Graft, Orange, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Glenn Tenley, Charles Brown, Kenneth Smith, Richard Nebergall, Russell Rhoads and Carl Haesemeyer. Burial in the Olin Cemetery. Chapman Funeral home, Clarence, in charge.
