Services March 7 For Jerome Wilson, 89, Once Stanwood Businessman

Funeral services for Jerome Wilson, 89, were held March 7 in the Stanwood Methodist church with the Rev. Beaty McDonald officiating. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery.

Mr. Wilson died March 5 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Beebe in Sioux City.

The son of Jacob and Rosmond Rickar Wilson, he was born July 14, 1876 near Stanwood, one of 9 children. He was educated in the Stanwood school and was married to Maude Clark of Tipton June 29, 1904.

He joined his father in the meat market and grocery business and, after his father's retirement, he and his brother, Ralph, operated the business as Wilson Brothers until their retirement in 1946. He moved to Sioux City 16 years ago.

He was a life-long member of the Methodist church and a 50 year member of the Fremont Masonic lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Maude, a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Beth) Beebe, Sioux City; a son, Burdette, Oconomowoc, Wis.; 7 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Susy Thompson, Boise, Wis. and Mrs. Etta Smith and Hollis Wilson, both of Stanwood.

A son, Clark, a brother and 4 sisters preceded him in death.
