Final rites for Lowell DeWitt Kinney, 68, a retired Clarence laborer, were held March 8 at the Sheets and Son funeral home in Tipton with Gordon Smith officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Henderson, Alvin Pierce, Lyle Olmstead, Ervin Techau, Fred Luikart and Arthur Ibsen. Laura Geller was organist and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Workman were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Kinney died March 5 at Iowa City University hospital, after a lingering illness.

The son of George H. and Mary Seaman Kenney, he was born March 20, 1896 in Fairfield township and was educated in the Clarence schools. He never married. He lived in Clarence most of his life and had been at the Tipton Custodial home since 1957.

He is survived by a brother, Edward, Cedar Rapids; a nephew, 3 nieces and 3 grandnieces.
