Services Held for Lorna Merlo, 42, in Mechanicsville

Stanwood - A Requiem High Mass was sung for Mrs. Lorna Merlo, 42, Friday morning by Rev. P. J. Casey in St. Mary's Catholic church, Mechanicsville, at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Merlo died in Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Wednesday, Sept. 15 after submitting to surgery the week before.

Lorna Pruess was born the daughter of Martha Rix and William Pruess near Olin on Jan. 31, 1923.

She is survived by her two children, William and Martha Ann Merlo and a brother, Melvin Pruess, Olin.

Carl Kleppe, Don Pruess, John Tenley, Dale Winsoe, Paul Kautz and Leroy Pruess were pallbearers. Burial in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville.
