George McCann, Former Cedar County Man, Dies In West Liberty

Funeral services for George McCann, 83, who died at 11:15 p.m. last Friday, Nov. 21 in Mercy hospital at Iowa City, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Snider funeral home at West Liberty. The Rev. Clinton Frank, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiated.

Interment was made in the Oakridge cemetery near West Liberty.

He was born Jan. 23, 1869, in Cedar county, Iowa, where he had been a resident until four years ago, when he moved to West Liberty. He was married Oct. 20th, 1897, in Chicago, to Glenn Rice. He had been a lifelong farmer.

Surviving besides his widow are a son Allen I. of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Helen McCann of Waterloo, Ia., and Miss Evelyn McCann of West Liberty; a brother Charles of West Liberty, and four grandchildren, as well as four great-grandchildren.
