10 April 1908 - The Lowden News

Marjorie May McClellan was born May 13th, 1899. After an illness extending over several months, she departed April 1st, 1908, at 6 o'clock p.m., aged 8 years, 10 months and 18 days. She was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McClellan. She is survived by four brothers, Glen, Dale, Donald and Forrest. During her sickness she suffered much, but all was borne patiently and uncomplainingly. She was of a quiet, retiring disposition, with a kindness of heart that bound her friends to her. Yet with a sensitive nature, that felt keenly any injury from companions at school. It can be truly said of her that her presence was sunshine in the home and she was dear to her parents hearts beyond the power to express. More might be said, but were she living, she would shrink from further words of praise. "She is not dead, but sleeping."

The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church of Clarence on April 3rd at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. J. S. Cotton, pastor, assisted by Rev. Mr. McIntosh of the M. E. church. The church was filled with sympathizing friends. A beautiful display of flowers formed a fitting tribute to the departed. The body was laid to rest in the Clarence cemetery. The many friends of Mr. McClellan and family in this community sympathize with them in their sad loss.
