Funeral services for Charles H. McCafferty of Stanwood, were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, 1952, at the Chapman funeral home in Clarence, with the Rev. George Gaide officiating. Interment in the Naches cemetery in Naches, Wash.

Charles H. McCafferty, the son of James Marton and Matilda McCafferty, was born Feb. 2, 1897, at Bucyrus, Ohio. His childhood was spent in Ohio and South Dakota. He enlisted in the United States army June 28, 1916, at Redfield, South Dakota; he served in the Mexican campaign in 1916, and 23 months overseas in France and Germany. For the past 20 years he has been in the insurance business and was well known to his many friends as "Mac". He was a past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Tipton.

He was united in marriage with Leona Hart at Stanwood, Iowa, Dec. 28, 1921. To this union two sons were born, Everette of Naches, Wash.; and Philip who is now serving in the army in Texas.

Mr. McCafferty had been seriously ill since Christmas day of 1951, and entered into rest on May 16, 1952, at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 14 days.

Surviving besides his wife and two sons are five brothers, Clarence, Russell, Ross, Curtis and Bruce, all of Ohio, and three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Lomas, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Ripple, Penn., and Mrs. Jeanette Robinson of California. He was preceded in death by his parents.
