Funeral services were held Oct. 3 for Bernice Lessig, 79, Willis, Texas, at Green Hills Memorial Park in Wilmington, Calif. Mrs. Lessig died Sept. 30 after being hospitalized numerous times in the past few months.

She was a Lowden native and graduated from Lowden high school in 1927. She was also a graduate of St. Luke's hospital school of nursing in Cedar Rapids and took a post graduate nursing course in Chicago.

She was married to Robert Lessig, who died in 1980 in Wilmington, Calif.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jerry Winans, Willis, Texas; grandchildren April, Nathan and Joshua Winans, Willis, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Arnold (Vera) Koch, Lowden; nieces and nephews and cousins.
