J. E. Lincoln, 90, Is Summoned by Death While at Hospital

Life Resident Of This Community Rites Saturday

John E. Lincoln, retired Cedar county farmer, died at the age of 90 years last Thursday a.m. Aug. 2nd, 1945, in Mercy hospital at Iowa City. He was born Nov. 1st, 1855, the son of George and Ruth Lincoln.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the Rochester Methodist church, with the Rev. A. W. Straub of Tipton and Rev. Cecil Latta of Bennett officiating. Interment was made in the Rochester cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Lincoln are the five sons, Edward, residing in Iowa City, Lloyd of West Branch, Clarence of Muscatine, Ernest of Tipton, and Howard of Illinois; also 4 daughters, Mrs. Vesper Heabner of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Mrs. Fae Roberts of Dowds, Iowa; Mrs. Louise Bonner of Ottumwa, Iowa; and Mrs. Elizabeth Marolf of Muscatine; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, two brothers, Mart of Iowa City and S. C. Lincoln of Wilton. Two sons and two daughters preceded him in death, as did also his wife.
