Funeral services for Marvin W. Goldsmith, 74, Clarence, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday June 29.
Mr. Goldsmith died June 27 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Pallbearers will be Owen Niermeyer, James Mente, James Goecken, James Bixler, Frank Fisher Jr. and Lloyd Hasselbusch. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch will be organist and St. John's adult choir will sing.
Mr. Goldsmith was born Oct. 13, 1913, the son of Gus D. and Emma Kreinbring Goldsmith. He was a lifelong resident of the Clarence area. He married Irma Wulff Dec. 5, 1935 at Clarence, and farmed until his retirement in 1970.
Mr. Goldsmith was a member of the Stanwood Masonic lodge and of St. John's United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. David (Betty) Skinner, Viola, and Mrs. Gary (Sally) Mohr, Clarence; one son, Jerry, and one sister, Wilma Schroeder, both of Clarence; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Lorence and Norbert.
