Henry Gottschalk was born at Dreilingen, Prov. Pannover, Germany, November 13th, 1862. He died at his home at Lowden, Sunday evening, May 22nd, of tuberculosis, at the age of 47 years, 6 months and 9 days.

Deceased was married to his now sorrowing widow on August 12th, 1887. To them were born five children, three of whom preceded their father to the better world. There now survive to mourn Mr. Gottschalk's untimely demise his widow and two sons, also two brothers and three sisters and many other close relatives.

Deceased worked for a long time for the Chicago & North-Western Ry. Co. as section hand. On account of his impaired health, the railroad people put him to take care of the park here last year and this summer he worked the gate from the tower on the Main street crossing, within a few days of his death, then the malady took more violently hold and soon brought the end.

Mr. Gottschalk was a loving husband and father, a quiet and good citizen. All here sympathize with the bereaved family.
