Final rites for Lyle O. (Pat) Reid, former Tipton barber, were held Aug. 5 with graveside services in the Stanwood cemetery.

Mr. Reid died suddenly of a heart attack Aug. 2 at Oxford Junction, where he was barbering.

The Rev. Calvin Schumacher, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, was in charge.

The son of Amos and Lula Reid, he was born Dec. 23, 1901 in Lowden and spent most of his life in the Cedar county area.

Mr. and Mrs. Reid and their son moved to Stanwood in the late 1920's where he operated his barber shop. After Mrs. Reid's death in 1942, Reid came to Tipton where he worked in several barber shops.

Mr. Reid was married to Mrs. Berniece Cook of Stanwood. They made their home in Stanwood.

He is survived by his widow, a son, Wallace, Hacienda Heights, Calif., his mother, Mrs. Lula Reid, Lowden, and 2 grandchildren.
