Final rites for Mrs. Myrl (Ione F.)Cashman, 90, were held at the Clarence United Methodist church Oct. 13, 1989 with the Rev. Tom Biatek officiating. Pallbearers were George Hoffner, Rick Sawyer, Larry Dewell, Leonard Conrad and Bert and King Kelly. Virginia Robinson was organist and the Methodist choir sang.

Mrs. Cashman died at the Clarence Nursing Home Oct. 10.

The daughter of Charles and Nellie Armstrong Smith, she was born at Mt. Vernon Jan. 7, 1899. She was married to Myrl Cashman at Clarence March 28, 1928. He died in 1944.

She began her teaching career in a rural school near Tipton. She then taught at Lowden and from the 1930's until her retirement in 1965, she taught at Clarence. She was a member of the Clarence Methodist church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sally) Veley, Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
