Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Clifford Johnson, 67, Stanwood, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Methodist church. Mr. Johnson died unexpectedly Sept. 14. Rev. James Nelson officiated at the service. Mrs. Robert Oxley was organist and Mrs. Galen Murfield was soloist.

Ray Ropa, James Cook, Pierre Ferguson, Earl Wells, Clarence Allamand and Fred Luedeman were pallbearers. Military rites by Busch-Dennis Post 309, American Legion. Burial in Rose Hill cemetery. Chapman Funeral Service, Clarence, in charge.

Clifford Johnson was born April 10, 1901 in Mechanicsville, the son of Ira C. and Jennie Conner Johnson. He was married to Freda Lehrman on March 18, 1923. Mr. Johnson was a World War I veteran, serving for 3 years in the Phillipines. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 28 years while they made their home in Davenport. Retiring in 1963, they moved to Stanwood where they owned and operated an antique shop.

Survivors include his wife, Freda; daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Jan) Thein, Tipton, and Mrs. Robert (June) Geiger, Amana; 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
