Lisbon - Funeral services for Cara May Dorcas, 83, were conducted at the Morgan Funeral home on Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Wayland Johnson, pastor of the Lisbon Methodist church, officiated. Leo Frederick was soloist. Grandsons of the deceased were pallbearers with burial in the Lisbon cemetery.

Mrs. Dorcas died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, the afternoon of Aug. 29 after an illness of 5 months.

Cora May Andre Dorcas was born the daughter of William and Sarah Morton Andre on March 5, 1855 in Pioneer township in Cedar county. She attended the Valley Chapel school near Lisbon. On November 24, 1909, she was married to Harry L. Dorcas at her parents' home near Lisbon. They lived on a farm near Lisbon all their married life.

Mrs. Dorcas is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Carl (LaVerna) Sieveka, Center Junction; Mrs. Luella Conner, Mt. Vernon and Mrs. James (Lorena) Gray, Mechanicsville; a son, Harry E. Dorcas, Lisbon and 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Also 3 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Spencer, Mechanicsville, Mrs. Lula Riemer, Mrs. Vern (Nellie) Beasmore and a brother, Ellis Andre, all of Lisbon and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in June of 1965, a brother, Sam Andre and her parents.
