Friends have received word of the recent death of Mrs. Helen Lane, a former Clarence resident. She will be remembered as the widow of Dr. J. B. Lane, a long-time Clarence dentist.

Mrs. Lane had made her home in Marshalltown for the past 20 years.

When she was a Clarence resident she was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Matrons Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Two sons survive her, Robert Lane, Marshalltown and Richard Lane, Decatur, Ga.; also 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Her husband and a son, George Lane, preceded her in death.
