Dr. Hoeltze, Born In Lowden, Dies In Texas Auto Accident

Dr. Hubert Hoeltze, 74, a native of Lowden, was killed in an auto accident near Commerce, Texas July 7. Final rites were held July 15 at Garden Grove, Calif. where he made his home.

Dr. Hoeltze had visited his son, Henry, and family at Wichita, Kans. over the July 4 holiday.

The son of Louis and Marie Sander Hoeltze, he was born in Lowden June 28, 1894 and received his education in the Lowden schools and the University of Iowa where he received a PhD degree in English. He had taught at the Universities of Oregon, Kentucky, Texas and Iowa.

He is survived by 2 sons, Henry and Hubert Jr., Garden Grove, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Amanda) Love, Silvis, Ill. and a brother, Oscar, Pengilly, Minn. He was an uncle of Cyrus and Gerald Kemmann, Lowden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
