Clarence - Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Brink, 90, were held at the Chapman Funeral home, Clarence, April 13 with Gordon Smith and the Rev. James Lusher officiating. Music was by Becky Elijah. Pallbearers were Kermit Roelf, Kenneth Frink, Lester Kelly, Amos Noring, Ed Ruchotzke and Merle Feddersen. The floral tributes were in charge of Mrs. Kermit Roelf and Mrs. Hazel Carstensen. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Mrs. Brink died April 11 in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a lingering illness caused by complications of a fractured hip Feb. 24. A life-long resident of Clarence she was born in Massillon township May 21, 1877, the daughter of Lewis and Margaret Sutherland Elijah. She married Frank Brink Feb. 19, 1902.

They lived on a farm 1 1/2 miles south of Clarence until 1922 when they moved to Clarence where her father, Lewis Elijah, made his home with them.

Mr. Brink died Jan. 15, 1934.

Mrs. Brink was a life-long member of the Dayton Valley Wesleyan Methodist church.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Alice Fristedt, Algona and Eveadell, a teacher for many years in Jefferson high school, Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Mrs. Virginia McLeran and a great-grandson, Steven McLeran, Iowa City.
