Last rites for Mrs. John (Mabel A.) Gronewold, 80, were held at First United Methodist church, Tipton April 10 with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Sieck, Andy Fuller, Ralph Gronewold, Ernest Kunde, Wesley Roselind and Robert Steward. Sharon Stiff was organist.

Mrs. Gronewold died at Cedar Manor April 6.

The daughter of Henry J. and Lena Hoffmann Reimers, she was born at Dixon Nov. 15, 1908 and attended the rural Scott county schools. She was married to John H. Gronewold at Rock Island, Ill. March 15, 1933. He died in 1969.

A farm wife, she spent 37 years in the Tipton area.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. William (Jean Marie) Ogden, Clarence and Mrs. Slim (Janice Mae) Ogden, Tipton; 2 sons, Marvin, Anamosa and Merle, Tipton; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, 3 brothers and a sister.
