9 January 1903 - The Lowden News

Thursday, Jan. 1st, Mrs. Levi Van Sickle of the northern part of Massillon township died at the age of 77 years. The funeral occurred on the 3d, with interment in the Massillon cemetery, Rev. J. K. Bloom of Oxford Junction officiating. Her aged husband, who is 84 years of age, her three sons, Lester, Oscar and Jasper, and a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, survive to mourn her departure. Mr. and Mrs. Van Sickle came here from Ohio in about 1853, and lived on their farm ever since. It is a remarkable family. As large as it has grown in the four generations, this was the first death that has occurred therein with the exception of one great grandchild, which died in infancy.
