Daisy Elizabeth Laing was born Dec. 25, 1903, northwest of Tipton in the Red Oak Grove community, the daughter of Lilly and the late James Laing Sr. She passed away suddenly Wednesday morning at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids, at the age of 48 years, 7 months and 20 days.

She received her education at the Red Oak Grove and Tipton schools, and joined the Red Oak Presbyterian church May 26, 1918.

She was united in marriage to Lee Waterman on June 6, 1934, at Iowa City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter and her father.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother Mrs. James Laing Sr., who is in St. Luke's hospital in a critical condition, one sister Mrs. Mary Schroeder, Atalissa, Iowa; eight brothers, William of Mechanicsville, Andrew of Mt. Vernon, James Jr., John and George of Tipton, Earl of West Branch, Harold and Mearl of Clarence; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 25, 1952, at the Sheets funeral home in Tipton with Rev. Raymon Ferguson officiating and burial in Red Oak Grove cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kermit Spencer, Earl Domer, Harlan Reeder, Robert Bolin, Vernon Lamp and Harold Wentzel.

Flower attendants were Marion Spencer and Betty Domer.
