John Heuser died June 18th at the home of his son Louis, at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 12 days of infirmaties of old age. Funeral occurred Saturday with services at Evangelical church and interment in the Lowden cemetery, Rev. Werning officiating.

Mr. Heuser was born in Roggendsdorf Kreis Grewismuehl, Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany. At the age of 32 years he was married to his surviving widow. In the spring of 1882 they came to this country and direct to Lowden. Mrs. Heuser is now 77 years of age. This aged couple was one of the few who are permitted to celebrate their golden wedding. They celebrated theirs over three years ago. Besides the widow four children, namely, his sons, John and Louis, and daughters, Mrs. John Frubois and Mrs. C. Eggert, survive their father; also twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Heuser has been a hard working man during all of his life. He was a fine old gentleman, upright and strictly honest in all of his dealings. A good husband and father. Peace be with his ashes.
