19 September 1919 - The Lowden News

Emma Johanna Louisa Daehn, second oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Daehn, was born December 8th, 1914, and died on Monday evening of ptomaine poisoning at the age of 4 years, 9 months and 7 days. The child with other members of the family became ill from eating over ripe bananas which caused the death of their little daughter. Besides the bereaved parents there are left to mourn two brothers, one sister and many near relatives.

The funeral was held at the home at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon followed by services at the Lutheran church conducted by Rev. J. H. Brammer. A large number gathered to sympathize with the bereaved family. At the close of the service the body was conveyed to the Lutheran cemetery and laid to rest. To the sorrying family we would say, this priceless treasure has been transferred to the home of Him who said, "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not for such is the kingdom of heaven."

The pallbearers were Wilma and Alma Steinke, Alice Kroemer and Luella Proehl. Flower girls were Milda Kruckenberg, Martha Wendt and Gertrude Kroemer.
