Joseph Wells, who is well known to many people in the north part of the county, passed away at the Cedar County Home last Friday. He was born in New York state eighty years ago and came to Iowa when a young man. For many years he was a pack peddler. In early life he was a student for the ministry but gave up the profession because of the loss of his voice.

Funeral services were conducted for him at the Cedar County Home by Rev. C. M. Wallace on Saturday afternoon of last week.
