18 December 1924 - The Tipton Advertiser

Benjamin Walter Leib, only son of Walter and Etta Leib, was born in Cedar county, Iowa, March 22, 1913, and passed away after a very brief illness, Dec. 8th, 1924, at the age of 11 years, 9 months and 17 days.

During his brief illness everything was done within the power of human skill and trained hands to do and while many were the prayers that were offered in the behalf of the afflicted, and his speedy recovery very much hoped for, such was not the plan of the Heavenly Father. While his years were few, yet his mission was completed. It was God's plan--not ours.

Bennie, as he was known by all his friends and school mates, was enrolled in the public schools of Tipton in which he took a profound interest. He was a kind companionable boy, both in and out of the home. While only a child in years he possessed the sterling qualities of real manliness.

While his abode was short upon the earth none can question the significance of such a life.

Besides the father and mother he leaves two sisters, Marian and Jessie together with many relatives and friends, who mourn his departure. The entire community unite in sympathy with the sorrowing loved ones.

Funeral services were held from the home Thursday, Dec. 11th, Rev. Dow Whitmore preaching the sermon. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery at Mechanicsville.
