Mrs. Edna Zybell, aged 75 years, 1 month and 19 days, died suddenly Thursday evening, March 1, 1951, in front of O'Connell Café in Chicago. Edna had maintained for several years an apartment in Chicago where she spent the winter as well as maintaining the parental home here in Clarence as her summer retreat from the heat of the city. The remains were brought to the Chapman Funeral Home by Chapman Ambulance service Sunday evening.
Mrs. Zybell was born January 10, 1876, the daughter of Wm. C. and Amarillo Sheets Thompson, both of whom with a sister Ruth and her husband Harry Zybell who preceded her in death. Among the survivors are cousins, Herb Thompson of Atlantic and H. John Thompson of Griswold and a nephew, Cory Zybell of Lake City.
Funeral service were conducted at the Chapman Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 6th, 1951, at 1:30 by the Rev. A. D. Holtry of the Methodist church with music provided by Mrs. Anna Klatt and Mrs. Arthur Claney accompanied by Mrs. J. B. Lane.
Internment was made in the Clarence cemetery with Earl Elijah, Harold Ruther, E. C. Hasselbusch, Fred Bachman, Howard Claney and R. G. Kelly serving as pallbearers.
