Sarah Rebecca Frink was born October 8, 1863 at Dayton Valley and died July 4, 1951; aged 87 years, 8 months and 26 days. She was the daughter of Homer and Helen Jobes Frink.

She attended the Clarence Public School and the Iowa State Normal School at Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught in the rural schools of Cedar county as well as in the public schools of Mechanicsville and Hampton for a few years prior to her marriage.

On March 17, 1891, she was united in marriage to Fred W. Decker. They established their home in the Dayton Valley community where she lived until she moved to Clarence seven years ago.

She was a life-long member of the Wesleyan Methodist church at Dayton Valley, having become a member at a very early age, and even remembered having attended the dedication of the Valley church in 1869. For many many years she was superintendent of the Sunday school. She was always a very active member of the Dayton Valley Missionary Society, and acted as secretary of the organization for many years.

She had much pleasure from her membership in the Wednesday Literary Club to which she belonged for 27 years.

Survivors are the six children--Frank, Mark, Elizabeth, Alice and Robert of Clarence, and John of Columbia, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; twin brothers, Homer of Ames and Howard of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7th, at the Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Elsie Stephens, minister of the local Wesleyan Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Dayton Valley Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harry Feddersen, Elwood Kirkpatrick, Jr., Ludwig Petersen, Lester Kelly, John Greig and Harold Dewell.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Anna Klatt and Mrs. J. A. Liercke, accompanied by Mrs. J. B. Lane.

Mrs. Lester Kelly and Mrs. Elwood Kirkpatrick, Jr. were in charge of the flowers.

Many friends, neighbors, and relatives were present to pay their last respects.
