Edward Trede was born at Walcott, Iowa, November 27, 1871, and died at his home in New Liberty, Iowa, June 5, 1920. His whole life has been spent in or near Cedar County, where he was widely and most favorably known.
He was married to Rose Petersen of Durant, Feb. 19, 1895. To this union were born ten children, two of whom died in infancy and the rest, four sons, Harder, Edwin, Woodrow and Ardo, and four daughters, Rosella, Elnora, Edna and Louise, survive him.
He also leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Rose Trede; his mother, Mrs. Dora Trede of Durant; four brothers, George, William, Louis and Herman; his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Petersen of Durant; and three brothers-in-law, Richard, John and Christian Petersen Jr.
Funeral services were held at the home at New Liberty, Tuesday June 8 and burial was made at Durant Cemetery.
He was a devoted husband, father and son and held a place among his relations and many friends, which will make him greatly missed.
