Mrs Johanna Burmeister, 86, died Thursday in DeWitt Community hospital. She had been ill only a few days.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, Oct. 12. The Rev Paul Jordan officiated. Mrs Robert Hasselbusch was organist. Interment was in the Lowden cemetery.

Johanna Burmeister, nee Jurgens was born Sept. 29, 1888 near New Liberty. She was married to Ernest Burmeister of Lowden in 1916. They farmed near Lowden until 1924 when they moved to Lowden. Mr Burmeister died in 1970.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs Gilbert Popp of Iowa City; Mrs Lillie Schwartz of Maysville and a brother, Herman Jurgens of Davenport. Also a number of nieces and nephews.
