As a result of internal injuries received Thursday, when he was struck by a westbound freight train near Durant, Iowa, John Lydon, age 28 years, who was brought here for medical treatment, died early this morning at Mercy Hospital, Davenport.
Mr. Lydon, who is employed by the C.R.I. & F. railway as track walker, moved out of the way of an eastbround passenger train, while on his way home from work and stepped directly in the path of the westbound freight. The train struck him and hurled him several feet. So far as is known, no relations of the man live in Scott County, but efforts are being made to contact friends in Minneapolis.

The remains of John Lydon, who was struck by a train at Durant Thursday and who died at Mercy Hospital in Davenport Monday as a result of the injuries, were taken to Durant today for burial. Interment will be made in the Durant Cemetery.
