Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist church, Clarence for Mrs Ella Mae Kastler, 78 who died last Wednesday in the Clarence Nursing Home. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

The Rev Donald Kehrli officiated. Hymns were sung by the Male Quartet and Mrs Albert Cooperider, Soloist. Mrs James Sawyer Jr. was organist.

Pallbearers were Henry Feddersen, Henry Von Muenster, Lester Kelly, Grover Penningroth, Marvin Schilling and Kenneth Morehead. Mrs Schilling and Mrs Feddersen had charge of flowers.

Mrs Kastler died in the Clarence Nursing Home after an illness of several months.

Ella Mae Pease was born March 21, 1896 in Friendship, Wisconsin. She married Randolph Kastler in 1924 in Chicago. They had resided in Clarence for a number of years where he served as a rural mail carrier until retiring.

Mrs Kastler was very active in community affairs including the O.E.S, Study Club, Legion auxiliary and the Women's organization of the Methodist church.

She also served as the Clarence correspondent for the Lowden News in the 1960's.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kay Owen, Washington, D.C.; sons, Neil of St. Charles, Mo.; and Kent of Des Moines; six grandchildren; sisters, Mrs Agnes Clark, of Friendship and Mrs Mina Goeding of Wauwatosa, Wis.; two step sisters; and brothers, David Pease of Adams, Wis. and Dale Pease of Sparta, Mich.
