Mechanicsville -- Funeral services for James B. Butler were held Monday, Dec. 15 at 1:30 p.m. in the Horner Funeral home. The Rev. Donald Wooge officiated and Mrs. E. H. Littig was organist.

James Bloom Butler was born March 23, 1912 at What Cheer, the son of James and Daisy Bloom Butler. He was married on June 5, 1964 to Adeline Hartman of Mechanicsville. He was a businessman in Cedar county most of his life. Mr. Butler was a member of the armed services during World War II, a member of the V.F.W. and the Masonic Lodge.

Military services were conducted by Busch-Dennis American Legion Post 309. Gene Heneks, Bud Parks, Harold Streets, Kenneth Kadlec, Hugh Lamont Sr. and Jay Hartman were pallbearers with burial in Rose Hill cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Charles.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline; mother, Daisy and a brother, J. C. Butler.
