Funeral services for Karl Schnipkoweit, 69, Clarence, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Oct. 11, with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Burial was in St. John's cemetery. He died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Oct. 9.

Mr. Schnipkoweit was born July 2, 1906 at Hildensheim, Germany, the son of Fred and Minna Brunscheen Schnipkoweit. He came to the United States in 1924. He was married to Berniece Goldsmith at Clarence Dec. 6, 1934. He was in the hatchery and feed business for a number of years, and farmed before moving to town.

Survivors are his wife, a son, Paul, Mechanicsville, 2 grandchildren, a sister, Lillian Schrott, Germany, and a brother, Fred, Tipton.
