11 December 1941 - The Clarence Sun
Norma Marie Doermann, daughter of Ernest Doermann and wife, Martha nee Pruess, was born June 4, 1915. She was baptized on the day of her birth by the Rev. Hansen and in 1919 was confirmed in St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church by Rev. Fauth.
She was a graduate of Clarence high school and attended Cedar Falls Teachers' College for one term after which she taught school in Cedar county. Ill health forced her to give this up and for the past two years she remained at home with her parents.
She entered into rest on Sunday, December 7, 1941, at the age of 26 years, 6 months and 3 days.
Surviving her untimely death are her griefstricken parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Doermann, and one brother, Harold. One brother and a twin sister preceded her in death.
In Memory
Every day has its ending,
Though it sad and dismal be,
It is vanished, gone forever,
All remains is cherished memory.
Memories of a loved one--
Of a friend and kindred, dear,
Memories of the pleasant hours
Spent on this earth with her here.
Every heart has its slumber,
Though it leaves us wrecked with grief,
God will surely be our solace,
Give our strickened hearts relief,
Listen to our earnest pleading--
Hear our most humble prayer,
"God be merciful to the departed soul,
Grant her eternal life up there."Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 9, 1941, from the Doermann home and the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church. Interment in the church cemetery. Rev. F. J. Mittler officiating. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Herman Hunwardsen, Mrs. Leo Fisher and Mrs. Harold Hass. Pallbearers: Robert Elijah, Durwood Greig, Leo Fisher, Frank Fisher, Jr., Clarence Drake and Harold Hass.
