William Wallace York, son of Charles and Martha Yock, was born one mile west of Clarence, December 30, 1887.

His entire life was spent in Cedar county where he engaged in farming until ill health forced him to retire four years ago.

After four years of poor health, the end came quietly on Sunday morning, January 24, 1943 at the age of 55 years and 25 days.

Surviving his departure are his wife Alice, three sons, Paul, Richard and William. Another son, Roland, preceded him in death. Five brothers are left to mourn his passing; Loren of Hominy, Okla.; Fred of Sioux City; Charles of Cherokee; Frank and Harry of Clarence.

Memorial services were held in the Wilson funeral home in Tipton Wednesday with Elder U. J. Fike in charge. Pallbearers were Harold Yock, Robert Yock, Clarence Yock, W. C. Hunter and John Miller. Burial was in the Diamond cemetery.

Fred Yock of Sioux City, Iowa, and Loren Yock of Hominy, Okla., arrived Tuesday to attend the funeral of their brother. Clarence Yock of Davenport, a nephew, arrived Monday evening.
