Funeral services are being held today in Trinity Lutheran church for Martin Wenndt, 73, who died Monday in the Clarence Nursing Home. The Rev. Earl Elowsky will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. service. Mrs Lorenz Hoffmeier is organist and hymns will be sung by the men's choir. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Kruckenberg, Reuben Wenndt, Harlan Deerberg, Richard Ebers, Melvin Deke and Arlin Esbaum. Mrs Harold Steinke and Mrs William Deerberg are in charge of flowers.

Mr Wenndt had been in failing health and had resided at the Nursing Home some time.

Mr Wenndt was born August 3, 1898 to Carl and Louise Kroemer Wenndt. He married Hulda Kruckenberg in 1924. He farmed north of Lowden for a number of years and later moved to Lowden.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Martin Daehn, Wheatland, Mrs Harold Syring, Tipton, Mrs George Hans, Sioux Falls, S.D. and Miss Becky Jo of Marion; one son, Clifford of Stanwood; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers Richard, Edwin, Carl, Marvin and Sylvan, and four sisters, Mrs Marvin Deke, Mrs Anton Deerberg, Mrs Emma Ebers and Mrs Martha Schroeder. His wife preceded him in death.
