Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13th in Trinity Lutheran church, Lowden for Harry Hamdorf, 58, a life-long resident of the Lowden Community. The Rev Wendell Henkemeier of Bennett officiated. Hymns were sung by the men's choir and Mrs Lorenz Hoffmeier was organist. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter Hack, Edgar Scheeper, Roy Mowry, Lester Mowry, Myron Schneider and Melvin Wiebel. Mrs Walter Hack and Mrs Carl Wenndt were in charge of flowers.
Mr Hamdorf died Saturday, July 10 from injuries he received on June 27th in a tractor accident on his farm northeast of Lowden.
Mr Hamdorf was born Sept. 11, 1912 in Lowden, the son Christian and Emily Riedesel Hamdorf. He was a lifelong resident of the Lowden area. On Nov. 17, 1953, he married Martha Kuehn in LaMars.
Survivors include his widow and daughter, Gail Ann, at home. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
