Janet, I think you might be right about TC. I don't know how they met, but his parents lived in Lawrence Co.Pa, which is next to Venango Co. where they were married in the brides home 12 Sept. 1867. They stayed in Pa. until the fall of 1868. They came to Council Bluffs, Iowa Dec 1868 where they lived for about a year before moving to Cass Co. and Noble twp in 1870. They rented land until 1882, when they went to Missouri and sold 120 acres and returned to Cass Co. and bought there home in 1883. There are two land claims on the 1917 platt book for Noble twp, one for John A. Weston for 77 acres and another for T.C. Weston for 80 acres on the other side of the section. Since John died in 1916 it could be that Tillie bought the 80 acres after he died so it showed on the 1917 book. I have a deed showing John bought 120 acres in 1874 in this same sec 34. I need to check the tax records to see how this land got split up and when.

John
