On Roots Web a response from Larry & Carole Murray cadillacman1951@yahoo.com on Samuel Sherk b 1829 in Canada d before 1895 in Stephenson IL, son of andreas (andrew) Jacob Sherk b 25 Nov 1796 in welland co Ont Canada & elizabeth STONER b abt 1797 in Canada. Married Amanda THOMAS b abt 1837 PA. children:
William A Shirk b abt 1855 in IL
Eliza SHIRK b abt 1856 in IA
Frank SHIRK b abt 1858 in Ia, and another query from Don & Jeanine Hartman FamilyHart@aol.com home page FamilyHart Pennsylvania Dutch Families (they are not doing DNA testing of family lines)
on Samuel SHERK with the same info, but that he was buried in Cass co Ia, and that Andrew Sherk was b in Willoughby township Welland, and Mary Elizabeth STONER was b abt 1797 in Of, Waterloo, Ont, Can., and he married Amanda THOMAS B may 1836 in , , OHIO.
I found in our Cemetery book Wm A Sherk 2-18-1924 @ 72 Bk 4 lot 246, and one burial
no name, no dates bk 4 lot 246, but I found no one by the name of Samuel in Cemetery Records.
