David Green Sr.:The family came to Iowa from PA in 1848. They first settled in Johnson County then moved to Cass County. They are listed as being the original members of Zion Church Evangelical Assn that was organized in1850. Census info: 1850 Dist. No. 9, Penn Twp, Johnson Co. IA p. 341, dwelling 3, enumerated 23 Sep 1850: David Green Jr. Age 34, farmer, $300 value of real estate, b. PA, Racheal "Peffer" Green, age 36 b. PA cannot read or write. children listed: John age 9, b. PA, William H., age 8 b.PA, Daniel W. age 5 b. PA, Mary B. age 3 b. PA, Martha H. age 1, b. PA have more census later information:;; 1860 and 1870
