Page 1, Column 6James Jordan, 74, Former Mayor Of Wiota, Dies
James E. Jordan, 74, Wiota retired mechanic and former mayor there, died at 10:40 Wednesday evening at the Dennis nursing home, where he had resided the last year.
He was born in Wiota May 22, 1886, the son of Jess Owen and Adelia Edwards Jordan and was married to Viola Derry at her home Feb. 7, 1907. Mr. Jordan had lived in Wiota most of his life, was a school bus driver there a number of years and was a member of the Wiota Methodist church. Mrs. Jordan died July 28, 1956.
Surviving are two sons, James B. Jordan of Audubon and Jess C. Jordan of Atlantic; a daughter, Mrs. William Lamberty of Atlantic; a brother, Harry Jordan of Atlantic; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Virgil Brooks and a brother, Louis Grant Jordan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. W. L. Hawn officiating. Interment will be in the Wiota cemetery.

Jordan RitesThe Rev. W. L. Hawn officiated at funeral services for James E. Jordan at the Roland funeral home Saturday afternoon at 1:30. Organ selections by Mrs. Kenyon V. King were “In the Garden” and “Beyond the Sunset.”
Casket bearers were Raymond Cannon, Durwood Spies, John Ihknen, Howard McDermott, Lawrence Ward and Merle Derry. Interment was in the Wiota cemetery.
