Don McFarland, 45, Dies in Council Bluffs Hospital

Don McFarland, 45, of 901 Hazel street, died at 6:15 Tuesday evening at Jennie Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs, where he had been a patient since May 19. He had been in failing health for some time.

The son of Arthur and Dessie McFarland, he was born north of Atlantic April 8, 1912 and was graduated from the Atlantic high school in 1931. He was married to Gladys Swinburne by the Rev. Richard Chambers Nov. 26, 1936 and they farmed north of Marne until moving here last December. Mr. McFarland was a member of the Buck Creek Methodist church.

Surviving besides the widow are a daughter, Nita McFarland, at home, his mother, Mrs. Jesse McCaustland of Atlantic and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Plaisted of Anaheim, Calif. A sister Maureen McFarland died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Roland funeral home. The remains will be at the funeral home until the service hour and will be cremated.
