April 7, 1936HARRIS RITES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Henry Fernando (Nan) Harris, 75, who died Monday morning at the old Shannon home in Des Moines following a lingering illness, will be held at 2:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the Osborne-Tomlinson funeral home, with the Rev. L. M. Grigsby, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
Mr. Harris is a former well known resident of Atlantic, a retired farmer and former Chicago contractor.
He was born on a farm north of Atlantic on Oct. 13, 1861, being a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harris. He was educated in rural schools and spent the earlier part of his life farming. After retiring from farming, Mr. Harris moved to this city and engaged in livestock buying for a number of years.
During the last fifteen years, deceased had spent the most of the time in Chicago where he was associated with his brother-in-law, John E. Steinhart, in the contracting, building and real estate business.
