Mary A. Butler Succumbs At 88

Mrs. Mary A. Butler, a resident of Napa since 1954, died Thursday at her home, 2790 Indiana St., at the age of 88.

Born in McAlveny’s Fort, Pa., Mrs. Butler went to Atlantic, Iowa, in a covered wagon as a child and resided there until moving to Napa. She was the mother of Erma Anna Cook of Napa. Wilma Blohm of Jefferson, Iowa, and Gerald Butler of Des Moines, Iowa; the grandmother of William Cook of Maryville, Fla., Bert Cook of Vallejo, Jack Blohm of Germany, Mary McGavern of Napa, Patricia Wall of Osceola, Iowa, and Mary Woods of Colfax; the grandmother of 10; and the sister of Jessie Lloyd of Atlantic, Iowa, and Amy Bales of Sidney, Neb.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Burial will be in Atlantic Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel.
